We are Better Birth Jackson, a community of birth workers with the mission of helping local families feel prepared, listened to, informed, and empowered when it comes to giving birth and caring for babies. As birth professionals, we are committed to using the most up-to-date, evidence-based resources to help families navigate the medical environment and make the best choices for themselves, their bodies, and their babies. We come from a wide variety of backgrounds and serve a wide variety of clients, all of whom live within one hour’s drive of Jackson, Michigan. Our doulas have different perspectives, different experiences, and different expertise. As a collective of many voices, no one voice speaks for the group, and so we encourage you to look through our doulas to find the perfect fit for you. We have many services to offer for the childbearing year from birth and postpartum doula services, to prenatal yoga classes, placental encapsulation, birth photography, and more!

We have a wide variety of backgrounds, ages, experiences, and paths that led us to doula work, but our drive is the same: to help families feel knowledgable about the process and options of birth, to feel empowered during giving birth, and to feel cared for and supported every step of the way.
Our Mission.
The positive effects of doulas on birth is well-established. From reducing the chance of a cesarean section to increasing reported satisfaction of a birth experience, there’s no downside to having a doula on your team.
Our Community
We are a Jackson-based collective. We are dedicated to improving our community, our local birth outcomes, and the empowerment of Jackson families. This is why we have a variety of pursuits to make sure families find the support, resources, and care they need.
